January Marriott Card

My mothert-in-law is one who always has some project going on. This time it's a diaper/wipe holder for the diaper bag (pictures can come later) and she makes these for an OB/GYN. Included in each she wants a card. We did a Smilebox one but they got cut off at Walmart, I figured out how to make the cards, so I told her I would make them (well actually I asked if I could - and she said YES). With January right around the corner, here's the January one.

Jesus and Santa

Why Jesus is Better Than Santa Claus!!

Santa lives at the North Pole...
Jesus is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh...
Jesus rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year... Jesus is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies...Jesus supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvited...
Jesus stands at your door and knocks, and then enters your heart when invited.
You have to wait in line to see Santa... Jesus is as close as the mention of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap... Jesus lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?"...
Jesus knew our name before we were born.
Not only does He know our name,
He knows our address too.
He knows our history and future and
He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly... Jesus has a heart full of love
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO... Jesus offers health, help and hope.
Santa says "You better not cry"... Jesus says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you."
Santa's little helpers make toys... Jesus makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but... Jesus gives you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree.
Jesus became our gift and died on a tree - the cross.

Mommy Pyramid

Your need for fluids increase while you are breastfeeding. You may notice that you are thirstier than before. Drink enough water and other liquids (drinking caffeinated drinks doesn't not affect the baby when drinking a moderate amount - 2-3 8 ou glasses). It's a good idea to drink a cup of water every time you breastfeed.

Unless your doctor advises not to be physically active, include 30 minutes or more activity (walking, swimming) into your day. -It doesn't have to be 30 minutes all together you can break those minutes up throughout the day.

New Babies and Milk

One of my best friends is expecting a little boy in just a few short weeks, little Vann (cute name huh, I voted for that name :) Great news, she may be having him over New Years', best part I will be in Vegas, to help her with him (VERY VERY EXCITED) I had promised her information on breastfeeding, and I can now finally sit down and give it! Love ya Ashlee, take care of yourself!!

When your milk comes in:
Your milk will come in a few days after birth, your breasts will be hard and full, it will also be a little frustrating for the baby to latch on. To help try:
-Nursing frequently (or pump, which will increase your milk flow~ just so you can have hubby help BONUS)
- Nursing on both sides at each feeding, starting with the less sore breast as the baby will suck more vigorously then. The less the baby sucks the more engorged you'll be.
-Taking a hot shower
-Applying a warm compress, or an ice pack.
-Pump a little from each breast.

Once your milk comes in the soreness will go away because your nipples have toughened. IT WILL HURT FOR A WHILE, UNTIL THEN, BUT DON'T GIVE UP!! After your milk is fully in you can nurse on one side as long as you want to. If the baby is full or sleepy, try waking him up to nurse on the other side, if he just won't, pump - this will keep up the milk. For each session, start on the opposite side (For example 3am feeding right side started , so at the 6 am feeding start on the left) This will prevent your breasts from becoming lopsided and maintain your milk supply.
You need to also need for let down, this is when the milk first comes at each feeding, you can also tell when the baby is swallowing (the first couple minutes the baby is just stimulating the nipple. Let down indicates that the baby is nursing well and correctly. Another kind of milk is the hind milk, which will appear if the baby has nursed for awhile on one side. This milk is thicker and fattier, which makes the baby feel fuller and helps in brain development. When your baby nurses on a dry breast, the brain will send a signal to produce more milk.

Winter Fun

I was driving one day and a commercial came on talking about a website that lists stuff by day what is going on. It's www.utahfamily.com, it is for Utah but I am sure that there are websites like this in other states. I'm very excited about checking it out every once in a while, so Ammon and I while Adam is at work, or for a family day can have something to do. On Tuesday the 8th there will be a TOY Tuesday from THIS website. Basically you give input on toys and such then you are entered for a GIFT CARD AND DONATION TO A CHARITY.

Decorating

Winter is setting in and I really want to decorate. I went to a gal's house the other day to get a bunch of stuffed animals, and I wish I had taken pictures of her rooms, but they were so much fun! Her boys' room was a sea theme, her baby's room was a numbers theme(You could have looked at this room and guessed the cost to be in the hundreds, but it was only $40) Her little girl's room was a pink on the top half and a cool green on the bottom. You are an amazing decorator Crista!! I told her that I am going to become her best friend, from all the tips I want from her. I want to decorate a bathroom and Ammon's room, any ideas?
And if you were wondering who Crista is check out her site here.
